Save A Warrior is a suicide prevention program offered free to our nation’s Veterans and Ohio first responders. It has served over 2,000 men and women at no-cost, with an over 99% efficacy rate since 2012.
The only thing that the organization asks of the attendees is to honor the seat and do the work. While sometimes daunting, attendees push through the flutter of their healing and find ways to honor the seat every day.
Walker Wood and Craft is honored to be making these key fobs to help raise money for the “Just Save One” campaign. These key fobs are made from 4-5 oz. veg-tanned leather. Typically when making a leather product, we would want to finish the leather with a stain, some edge treatment, and maybe a protective finish. We keep the treatment on these minimal with a light mink oil wipe. For the S.A.W. key fobs, we wanted to embrace the journey of those who have gone and will go through the S.A.W. program. The color and character of your key fob is going to come from the natural oils of your skin, rubbing around inside your pocket or purse, and general life situations. Just like each of our journeys in life: we gain character, get distressed, get polished…it is what makes us unique.
We are offering both the soldier and shield Save A Warrior logos in both embossed and branded styles. We also have the “whale tail” which was hand drawn by our son Adrian. See the video below for an interview with our artist for this design.
Walker Wood and Craft is working with the seat owner who is supporting the “Just Save One” campaign. Typically a Save A Warrior seat is available only to Active Military, Veterans, and Full Time First Responders. The 5 day program seat is around $5,000. Through Just Save One, we can provide a scholarship for one Warrior’s life-changing experience or simply off-set the expenses associated with the SAW Program!
